Baudrillard.

When I first began to look at Baudrillard and his theories in this module his ideas and opinions confused me. He takes on a whole different way of looking at life and society and the way people work.
After looking more carefully at his views on consumerism and the idea of the code I have began to understand his way of thinking.

Most interestingly I think are his views on the sign values of objects. It is not so much about what the item is but what it means and suggests to other people.

Functional, exchange and symbolic values of objects is also an interesting point as they are all things that everybody comes across on a day to day basis. It just depends in which form.

After trawling the internet for information I came across a website that gives quite an interesting breakdown to Baudrillard and his career. It is quite easy to understand therefore being one of the reasons I was able to pick up on his theories further. (I think I needed it dumbing down haha) It helped me to understand a little bit more on his views.

Another good website to check out is http://englishscholar.com/baudrillard.htm
It has links to lots of resources and his writings on there for anyone who wants to read more into his work.
